This photograph was taken during one of my favourite visits to The Stray in Harrogate, when the famous cherry blossom avenue was at its absolute best. Looking straight down one of the tree-lined pathways, the rows of blossom create a beautiful pink canopy that has become one of Yorkshire's most photographed spring scenes. For a few magical weeks each year, photographers, walkers, runners and dog owners are all drawn here to enjoy what is undoubtedly one of the finest cherry blossom displays in the county. The blossom only lasts for a short time before the petals begin to fall, making every visit feel a little bit special.

The afternoon sunshine filtered gently through the branches, lighting the blossom and creating the perfect conditions for photography. I wanted to capture the natural symmetry of the avenue, with the pathway disappearing into the distance beneath the tunnel of pink flowers.
