Hand Stretched Canvases
At The North Yorkshire Gallery, we want to make sure that our customers get the best possible quality and look for their Whitby canvases. That's why we take great care and pride to ensure that each canvas print is hand-stretched around a solid pine kiln-dried frame and professionally stretched in Yorkshire. We guarantee that our canvas folds are on the top and bottom of the frame, rather than unsightly on the sides as often happens with cheaper machine stretched art works. Additionally, our stretcher bars are made entirely in the UK and are dried to 10%, which is the optimal level; going lower runs the risk of brittle and cracking bars while going higher increases the risk of warping the canvas. That's why we take as much care with the back of the canvas as we do with the front. Before shipping any of our products, we carefully seal the back of the canvas onto the wooden frame and add corner buffers which elevate it a few millimeters off of the wall. This allows for air to circulate behind the prints and for them to sit evenly on your wall! Finally, for added convenience and security, we fit a sawtooth hanger to the back of each frame.
Safely delivered
Your canvas print is valuable, so it needs to arrive in the same flawless condition it left our workshop. That's why we have four rigorous control measures in place during delivery. We firstly wrap the prints with bubble wrap for primary protection and keep them secure within a box padded out further with additional wrapping. Fragile tape will be used to clearly mark the box and ensure additional caution from the professional delivery companies when in transit, handling and finally delivering.
